PLN Nusantara Power Wins 12 EBTKE Awards 2026, Reinforcing Its Leadership in Clean Energy
JAKARTA, September 4, 2026 – PLN Nusantara Power (PLN NP) has once again marked a major achievement in clean energy development by winning 12 awards at the 2026 New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) Awards, organized by the Directorate General of EBTKE at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources on Thursday (September 3) in Jakarta. The awards were presented as part of The 12th Indonesia EBTKE ConEx 2026, held from September 2–4, 2026.
The recognition reflects PLN NP’s consistent efforts in developing a wide range of clean energy solutions, including biomass utilization, green hydrogen, waste-to-energy, solar energy, low-carbon technologies, and energy conservation.
Director General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Prof. Dr. Eng. Eniya Listiani Dewi, B.Eng., M.Eng., IPU said accelerating the development of new and renewable energy requires collaboration among all stakeholders to optimize Indonesia’s clean energy potential and strengthen national energy security.
“The development of new and renewable energy requires collaboration and collective efforts from all stakeholders. We need to ensure that various EBTKE potentials and projects continue to move from the planning stage toward concrete implementation,” Eniya said.
This spirit is aligned with PLN Nusantara Power’s efforts to continuously develop clean energy innovations while transforming its existing generation fleet. These initiatives form part of PLN NP’s commitment to delivering energy solutions that are not only lower in emissions, but also continue to support the reliability and resilience of Indonesia’s national electricity system.
President Director of PLN Nusantara Power Ruly Firmansyah said the 12 awards validate the hard work of all PLN NP personnel in transforming innovation into energy solutions that deliver tangible impact and help shape the future of the energy sector.

We will continue to strengthen our role as a pioneer in green power generation by delivering energy that is increasingly cleaner, more reliable, competitive, and sustainable,” Ruly said.
One of PLN NP’s major achievements was securing three awards in the Biomass Cofiring Performance Assessment for Coal-Fired Power Plants category, with the Tenayan Generation Unit and Paiton Generation Unit receiving the Aditama Award, while the Pulang Pisau Generation Unit received the Pratama Award.
PLN NP is a pioneer of biomass co-firing within PLN Group. The initiative, which began through research and testing in 2018, achieved its first commercial operation at Paiton Steam Power Plant on June 10, 2020.
Throughout 2025, PLN NP’s biomass co-firing program, commercially implemented at 25 coal-fired power plants, generated 1,041 GWh of green energy and contributed to an emissions reduction of approximately 1.17 million tons of CO?e. By the end of the first half of 2026, the program had generated approximately 490.5 GWh of green energy, with emissions reductions reaching 590.9 thousand tons of CO?e.
In the new energy sector, PLN NP also received recognition for its green hydrogen development at the Muara Karang and Tanjung Awar-awar Generation Units, as well as its waste-to-energy innovation at the Indramayu Generation Unit. In the renewable energy sector, awards were secured by the Muara Karang, Tanjung Awar-awar, Brantas, Paiton, and Cirata Generation Units.
