Gresik, July 8, 2025 – Joy was clearly reflected on the face of Yuni Endang Wiludjeng as her newly renovated home was officially handed over by PLN Nusantara Power (PLN NP). The modest house, left behind by her late husband Heriyanto, a retired employee of PLN NP UP Gresik, now stands solid and livable. The assistance was provided through the Healthy Home Renovation Program (Bedah Rumah Sehat), a collaboration between PLN NP, LAZIS PLN NP, and the Indonesian Electricity Retirees Association (IKPLN).
Previously, Mrs. Endang’s house was in poor condition. The roof leaked, the ceiling had deteriorated, and anxiety loomed every time the rain fell. Limited financial resources forced the family to temporarily cover the roof with tarpaulins to protect themselves from the weather.
Today, thanks to the support and solidarity of PLN NP colleagues, Mrs. Endang’s home now features a sturdy roof, ceramic flooring, a new ceiling, and a refreshed appearance through repainting. She and her three children can now live safely and comfortably.
“I am deeply grateful and truly moved. This assistance feels like a ray of light during our most difficult times. Thank you, PLN NP—this is more than just a house; it is a new hope for us,” said Mrs. Endang with emotion.
The Healthy Home Renovation Program was initiated in 2021 as a tangible expression of PLN NP’s care for its retirees, who once played a vital role in electrifying the nation. To date, 29 houses have been renovated. In 2025, PLN NP targets the renovation of 10 houses, with two already completed.
President Director of PLN Nusantara Power, Ruly Firmansyah, stated that the program represents a form of appreciation for retired employees who dedicated their lives to the company and the nation.
“They are heroes who were part of our journey. This program is an expression of our love and gratitude—because no matter how high the company’s achievements are, its foundation remains those who first illuminated the nation,” Ruly said.
The handover ceremony was conducted by the Director of Human Capital Management and Administration of PLN NP, represented by Harry Purnomo, Vice President of Communication & CSR of PLN NP, together with Mochamad Fauzi Iskandar, Senior Manager of PLN NP Gresik, and Fatchur Rozi, Chairman of IKPLN Region for PT PLN NP, along with their respective teams, on Monday (July 7) in Gresik.
More than just physical construction, this program delivers comfort, peace of mind, and renewed spirit for retirees and the families they leave behind. It reaffirms that PLN NP never forgets those who once contributed to shaping the nation’s future. (*)
