Jakarta, June 3, 2026 – Amid the growing corporate mandate to drive sustainable growth, PLN Nusantara Power (PLN NP) continues to demonstrate that business success can go hand-in-hand with improving community welfare and environmental preservation. This commitment received national recognition as the company secured 22 honors at the TOP CSR Awards 2026.
These accolades reflect more than just corporate recognition; they mirror PLN NP’s success in integrating Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) into its core business strategy through a "Creating Shared Value" (CSV) approach. Through empowerment programs across its power plant operational areas, PLN NP delivers solutions that address community needs while advancing the company’s sustainability agenda and the national energy transition.
The TOP CSR Awards 2026, organized by TopBusiness Magazine in collaboration with various ESG and CSR experts, centered on the theme: “Aligning CSR and ESG for Long-Term Corporate Value and Sustainable Development.” The theme emphasizes the critical synergy between social, environmental, and governance (ESG) aspects in generating long-term value for both the company and society.
PLN Nusantara Power President Director, Ruly Firmansyah, stated that these awards validate the company’s consistency in delivering empowerment programs that yield social, economic, and environmental impacts.
"For PLN Nusantara Power, the success of our Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) programs is not measured by the sheer volume of activities, but by how well those programs foster community independence, strengthen local economies, support environmental conservation, and ultimately provide added value to the company’s business sustainability. These awards are proof that our CSV approach delivers real, sustainable benefits for all stakeholders," said Firmansyah.
Of the 22 awards received, three PLN NP units — the Rembang, Muara Karang, and Indramayu Power Plants — were awarded the prestigious TOP Golden Trophy. Furthermore, various flagship programs earned TOP CSR Stars 5 (4 awards), TOP CSR Stars 4 (5 awards), and TOP CSR Stars 3 (1 award). Additionally, nine unit leaders were recognized with the Top Leader on CSR Commitment 2026 award for their dedication to integrating sustainability into business management.
This success is underpinned by innovative programs tailored to the specific potential of each region. In Tuban, East Java, the Tanjung Awar-Awar Power Plant introduced the "Cakrawala Nusantara" program, which bridges the agriculture, livestock, and energy sectors by utilizing corn cob waste as biomass for power plant co-firing. The initiative not only reduces agricultural waste but also creates new income streams for farmers.
Meanwhile, the Brantas Power Plant’s "Batik Seng Naik Kelas" program integrates cultural preservation, women’s empowerment, and sustainable waste management through the development of local batik SMEs, supported by entrepreneurship and digital transformation training.
Across the country, PLN NP continues to run flagship programs—such as Rebon Lestari, Sadulur Tani, Pijar Gemilang, and Kariangau Sejahtera—that focus on economic strengthening, environmental conservation, and human capital development. These programs are systematically designed based on thorough social mapping to ensure long-term positive impact.
Firmansyah added that these achievements are the result of collaboration between PLN NP’s workforce and various stakeholders, including local governments, academics, and local communities.
"Moving forward, PLN Nusantara Power will continue to leverage CSR as a strategic pillar to support national development, achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and accelerate our transition toward a greener energy future. We believe that a company only grows when it grows alongside its surrounding communities and environment," Firmansyah concluded.
With this achievement, PLN NP reaffirms its position not only as the largest power generation company in Southeast Asia but also as a firm dedicated to creating shared value for society, the environment, and Indonesia’s sustainable future. (*)
